Sceleus Press is an independent tabletop roleplaying game publisher founded by Riley Swift, a designer, illustrator, and lifelong gamemaster based in Los Angeles.

Riley’s journey into RPGs began in 1986, when he discovered a battered copy of the AD&D Monster Manual in a neighborhood trash can, most likely a casualty of the satanic panic. From that moment he was hooked, spending decades running games, crafting worlds, and exploring the intersection of storytelling and art. He was also part of Dungeon Majesty, the obscure cult public access TV show, where he played the Dungeon Master host and served as chief prop and model maker.

Most of his professional life has been spent as a graphic designer and illustrator for entertainment, lifestyle, and apparel brands. Discovering Shadowdark gave him the perfect opportunity to bring those professional design skills together with his lifelong love of TTRPGs and his passion for building atmospheric worlds that inspire amazing shared stories.

In 2025, Sceleus Press is releasing its first title, Veilstone: A Gothic Western, a Horror Western campaign setting that marks the beginning of a line of story rich, and visually striking supplements for the Shadowdark Rpg.
